EXPERIENCED FLOORING INSTALLERS WANTED

Do you install vinyl, laminate, ceramic, hardwood or carpet? We need your skills and expertise! We have a lot of work throughout the year for the right candidates.

You would be responsible for laying floor coverings in establishments such as buildings, restaurants, homes, offices, and factories. Must have experience installing various materials such as: laminate, linoleum, vinyl, cork, rubber, carpet, wood, or tile.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Disconnect and remove obstacles such as appliances and light fixtures. 

• Measure area to determine amount of materials needed. 

• Confer with homeowner or Project Manager to determine ideal material and layout. 

• Correct irregularities such as a sub-floor that is unleveled or contains rotted wood. 

• Sweep, scrape, sand, or chip dirt and irregularities from base surfaces, and fill cracks with putty, plaster, or cement grout to form smooth foundation.

• Provide estimates on how long the job will take. 

• Cut flooring materials. 

• Use adhesive to glue material to floor. 

• Unroll and install polyethylene film. 

• Install padded underlay to reduce noise. 

• Install floor covering and ensure there are no cracks. 

• Clean workspace to showroom standards. 

• Mop up floors or vacuum and inspect finished product for flaws. 

• Replace any defective flooring material. 

Qualifications:

• Experience installing tile, vinyl, laminate, hardwood or carpet 

• Dependable, presentable with own transportation and tools. 

• Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the floor covering trade. 

• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. 

• Ability to read and understand visual instructions and layouts. 

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Able to build positive relationships with customers.  

Salaried positions and sub-contract positions available. 

Interested sub-contractors must have their own tools, unmarked vehicle, own HST # and provide valid WSIB and Liability certificate (min $1 million). 

Hourly applicants must have their own tools and unmarked vehicle but WSIB and insurance will be carried by store.
